THE YAMAHA TRICITY GRAND LAUNCH MALL OF ASIA CONCERT GROUNDS Yamaha Motor Philippines, Inc. recently concluded its 2 Day Grand Launch Extravaganza of the Yamaha Tricity. YAMAHA LAUNCHES XTZ 125 AND SEROW 250
Motorcycle fans in the Philippines can now add two new motorcycles to their wish lists. Yamaha officially unveiled the XTZ 125, and Serow 250, for the Philippine market at the Yamaha Off-Road Media Day on July 31,2014. The event featured different activities which were highlighted by the Enduro race where Spyder provided the goggles for the participants.
First showcased at the Yamaha International Show last month, both the XTZ 125 and Serow 250 are dual sports bikes that boast great rides on city roads and on rough terrain.
The XTZ 125 is a lightweight, high performance bike that features smooth drivability, and reliability. It is also fuel efficient with an 11-liter fuel capacity. Optimized for going off road, the bike has a long suspension travel and adjustable rear shock. In addition, the bike’s front tire (80/90-21) is larger than the rear tire (110/80-18).
The unit assures an easy, safe, and comfortable ride with its compact body, stable full HT steel frame and engine guard.
The Serow 250 on the other hand features excellent maneuverability suited for mountain trails. The maximum turning angle of the bike’s handlebar is 51 degrees. It has a short wheelbase (1,360 mm) and a tight turning radius.
The bike also features a powerful torque and a fuel-injected engine. The Serow 250 also assures an easy ride with a low-seat height of 810mm. It has a fuel capacity of 9.8 liters.
The XTZ 125 is now available with a suggested retail price of P81,900, interested buyers will get their hands on the Serow 250 real soon. The bike will be offered in September with the suggested price of P229,000. The XTZ 125 is available in white or blue, while the Serow 250 comes in beige or white/green. The Sogo Urban Adventure Race
The country’s largest Hotel Chain – Hotel Sogo is set for their upcoming Sogo Urban Adventure Race which will transpire on March 29, 2014. The event is a 24-hour adventure race for the Elite Men and Elite Mixed Categories and a six hour race for the Fun (open) Category which will take off at exactly 11:00PM and 7:00AM respectively on the said date.
This race promises to offer exciting challenges along the race course. Two-person teams has to find
Hidden checkpoints located in different branches of Hotel Sogo within the metro, navigate the urban landscape on foot, on bike and with public transit to reach the event finish line.
Finisher teams are expected to cross the finish line at 7:00PM of March 30 and 12:00MN of March 31. The awarding ceremony and program will take place as soon as all race participants reached the finish line.
Teams can expect a scenic view on and off the road, running on a challenging but with easy navigation in and across the metro, fun and exciting relay games, mind boggling games, thrilling rappelling and zip lining/Tyrolean traverse and other surprise challenges that will surely bring out the best of the teams.
Cash and prizes will be awarded to the top three (3) teams. Surprise awards and recognitions will also be presented to selected participants. Awarding ceremony and program will take place at the finish line at 6:00 PM at the end of the day.
The Race Disciplines

SUZUKI'S NEW BIKES TAKE THE COUNTRY BY STORM
The “big three” bikes of Suzuki Philippines are creating the expected buzz in the market as the three new bikes are launched in over 24 different territories within the country.
The Shooter J 115 Fi, the Raider J115 Fi, and the Raider R 150, collectively known as Suzuki’s “big three”, were launched in different parts of the country with 8 territories coming from Luzon, 9 from Visayas and 7 from Mindanao.
Each territorial launch gave Suzuki dealer participants in these areas a chance to know the complete information on the new models and witness their unveiling. MDPPA INDUCTION OF OFFICERS 2014
Suzuki Philippines, Incorporated's Ms. Catalina Calderon is the newly and first lady-elected President of the Motorcycle Development Program Participants Assoc., Inc. (MDPPA).
Officers and members of the Motorcycle Development Program Participants Assoc., Inc. (MDPPA) held their Induction of Officers on February 18, 2014 at the Edsa Shangri La Hotel, Mandaluyong City fuelled with the theme, “Passing the Torch. The Journey Continues”.
Inducted into office were: President Catalina Calderon (Suzuki Phils. Inc), Vice President Generoso Paralisan (Honda Phils., Inc.), Treasurer & Chairman of Government Committee Alfredo Lejano, Jr. (Yamaha Motor Phils., Inc) , Auditor and Chairman of Marketing Committee Gilbert Limjoco (Kymco Phils., Inc.), and the Director and Chairman of Technical Committee Rodel Pablo (Kawasaki Motor Phils., Inc.). The induction was headed by Atty. Allan Gepty, Deputy Director General of the Intellectual Property Office (IPO).
Mr. Alfredo Lejano (Yamaha Motor, Phils. Inc.), outgoing President delivered his performance report and accomplishments in the organization and gave his heartfelt gratitude to all officers, members, and partners for their support and cooperation.
In her acceptance speech, Ms. Calderon gave recognition to the leadership of past officers and acknowledged the great opportunities that MDPPA presents. She briefly presented the thrusts of the organization this year and ended with her powerful message, “in our journey to success, we cannot be stagnant and be satisfied with status quo. We have to keep on improving as we face the challenges of the Motorcycle industry”.
